Delftse Poort
(1991)
This was designed for use in a single building: Delftse Poort, an office
building owned by the Nationale Nederlanden insurance group and for years
the tallest building in Rotterdam, close to the Central Station. The building
has two striking towers, so wherever possible I split the letters in two,
making a kind of stencil type. Where necessary, as in the w and M, individual
letters consist of more than two parts. The type is exclusive to Nationale
Nederlanden and this particular building, where it is used for wayfinding
and other lettering.
